Cape Peninsula-day 2๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

On our second day we headed south out of the city, down the most spectacular coastal roads I have ever seen. Honestly, itโ€™s very difficult to focus on the road when the views look like this:

After managing to stay in my lane, we landed at Boulders Beach-an aptly-named area, which hosts:

  1. Gigantic picturesqe boulders
  2. A charming colony of AFRICAN PENGUINS!

Mr. New-Bee was very patient while I roamed tidepools, boulders, and scenic beach while photographing very tolerant penguins and squealing with delight:

A good part of the beach is protected breeding area managed by Africaโ€™s National Park Service, but it was a highlight of my trip to share a beach with these charming birds.

Next, we headed down the coast to the Cape of Good Hope-a whole area that is managed national parkland, with beautiful beaches, rugged coastline, and finally blue ocean as far as the eye can see:

I could have easily spent a week down here, at the bottom of the world, exploring these beautiful and astounding public lands.

After heading back north, we had an AMAZING MEAL at Mama Africa-a Capetownian restaurant featuring African music and cuisine. If you have spent any time with me, you know I am an ADVENTUROUS EATER. This meal was Alligator Carpaccio, Goat Skewer, and Bilulu (spicy Mopane worms with eggplant and red pepper!)

This was a MEAL TO REMEMBER! I encourage you to to try the unusual stuff! (The worms werenโ€™t bad๐Ÿชฑ)
