I KNOW I KNOW I have not been updating this blog! My favorite joke is: 'this is my busy season and I say that every season.'
We REALLY HAVE BEEN BUSY! August and September bring in ALL THE PRODUCE, and ALL THE BEEKEEPING. This year was another mediocre honey harvest-I think last year's terrible draught and this spring's near-constant rain did their mischief. But, all is well! We spent this beekeeping season bringing some new excellent queen genetics into our apiaries, and did a little hive moving (to a better, sunnier spot.) The girlz are HUNGRY and we're working on fattening them up as best we can for winter.
In the kitchen-what can I say? CHOPPING AND STIRRING AND POURING HONEY as fast as we can! End of summer business blurs right into holiday season prep, and we try to be as mindful as we can about the seasons to come, all the while working to take in as much of the local abundance as possible.
