Blink and You’ll Miss It…

Summer is CONTROVERSIAL with folks in my life! I get it-it’s been HUMID AND HOT. I can’t help it, however; I LOVE summer, I always have. Bees zooming! Chickens scratching around! And alllllll the growing things.

This season has been chugging by so fast; the produce is rolling in, even if the honey quantities have been a little lackluster this year. I have theories on this:

-our galz went into winter very stressed from last year’s terrible drought

-I had to feed them so much (again, the drought) which helps! But my emergency food doesn’t give them the same nutrition as nectar

-This rainy season is GOOD for growing! But rain also keeps the galz inside, AND washes nectar away
